Krimbo Slice
by Grunt on Dec.02, 2009, under Funny, Work
-and its Xmas time and we’re putting up Xmas decorations in the office including our Xmas tree. However, our sad little tree does not have an angel.
So someone suggested we put Kimbo Slice on top, which led to someone else suggesting make it xmassy, which led my TL to suggest I use my photoshop skills to make it so…
And I did!
Also made a whiter variation which, as there is alot more editing, looks worse.
Flume Games

So, needless to say, the lifeguards up at the top of the flumes were very bored. More so than usual!
And we were too on 1/11/2009 – So we continued the genius work.
This is the result:
These were all created with cut flume tickets and stuck to the wall with water. Good times!
Make your own Domo Kun
by Grunt on Oct.02, 2008, under Geek, Work
I was bored at work (suprise!) and was searching for a 4Chan branded wallpaper which i seen the other night and wanted for my work PC (its cool)
And somehow came across this beauty!
Unfortunately, my work doesn’t do colour printers. So I have a black and white Domo sitting nicely on my monitor shaking his angry fist at all the assholes i have to deal with.
He’s my little buddy

A few weeks ago, one of my managers came up to me asking if I had applied for any of the Job Spots that had been sent out.The ones she was implying were the MPS Tier 1.5 job and the Tier 2 job.
Let me explain:
Tier 1 (Current position) - Sit at PC, answer phones (force fed calls.. it beeps, we start talking), Tell user to plug keyboard back in. User cant do that. Assign call to desktop support team who earn twice what we do, who physically go to the users desk and plug keyboard in for them. Get paid piss all…
Tier 1.5 – Sit at PC, dont have to answer calls, try and fix various problems Tier 1 are too stupid to fix themselves because they don’t follow the knowledge base solutions. Main one being “Fix – Use common sense” and get paid a little bit more.
Tier 2 – Sit at PC, dont have to answer calls, Try fix things Tier 1.5 can’t do because they havn’t had the training or permissions on the network to fix. Techically be a sub-admin of network. Able to fix most problems remotely. Get paid more. More eligable to be put on training courses like MCSE as its worth while for the company.
Now, the Tier 1.5 position would be good for me because of who the client is and the size of the service desk. This would look excellent on my CV and I would also then have the chance to move up to Tier 2 for that desk, in time.
However, the Tier 2 position would be for a possibly smaller desk. But the fact I’d be jumping up 2 positions looks really good. And i’d be on a desk that maybe is not too busy, which would allow me to sit at work and learn stuff and study for as many exams I can get my hands on to get my MCSE. Woop!
So at the moment, I have several members of middle management fighting over me to see which desk I go to. Its gonna be interesting to see how it pans out. I dunno which i’d prefer to be honest, but all I know is that the T1.5 job will mean I don’t get access to email people around work…
—Update—
I was approached yesterday by my Ops Manager who took me aside and flat out asked which job I wanted to take. I’m guessing the powers that be couldn’t make up their minds or something. But I guess it is ultimately my decision.
I don’t know. As said above, they both have their pro’s. However, I’ve spoken to to Team Leader of the Tier 2 team and voice my acceptance of the position. I believe in the end I will learn more on Tier 2 – PLUS I’ll still have email access to my friends. Woop woop!
Its actually quite a hard decision to make. I’ve never been in a position where I’ve had the choice of two jobs, both of which would benefit me. So hopefully i’ll be a Tier 2 monkey soon
